Crazy has places to hide in that are deeper than any goodbye

I scored this cape for $2.50 on Wednesday sale day at the Union City Salvation Army a couple months ago. Every time we make the trip to visit the MIL in upstate New York we stop here. The first time we went in, it smelled funny and we did not want to explore the clothing racks, let alone even be in there. After a couple visits we recovered from the initial creepiness and got some major finds here. I can't wait to go back.

New York Lunch

Calories! Delicious calories.

I got good news today- I get to schedule my thesis defense. Woo hoo! It looks like I will be graduating this semester. It was also our day off and before I buckled down for the last push to format and write another draft, we decided to nosh out. Off to New York Lunch. This place is an institution in Erie and I was happy to learn the owner was open to creative types. I haven't been down to this part of East Ave in forever and it seemed like it is what Parade St should be. It has lots of old buildings and quirky independent businesses but is not as run down as things are a couple blocks to the west. I can't wait to check out the Mexican restaurant near here. Sigh, Eastside <3

We'll take one more step toward easy street

This is what I wore to (finally) see Chronicle. I've been dying to see it since viewing the trailer which looked so un-movie like, it blew my mind. In combination with the stellar reviews, my need grew but we were waiting for our crew to get together so we could all go. By the end, I was speechless- not necessarily the best reaction. I just didn't get the point they were going for. There was so much subtext the film makers left unexplored and it felt rather vapid. Thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless.

Lead, follow, fall

I am getting major spring fever. The weather has been clearing up but it is still cold cold. The season change is taking it's sweet time, but that's ok. The winter has been so mild I can't really complain. I am just grateful for the variety mother nature provides every day.

Today was so icky, there was no way I wanted to leave the house. The sun peeked out from behind the clouds occasionally, but it was blustery and stormy until the sun went down. I did go out at night and I wanted to wear some color to counter act all of the drab grays of the day so I went with my gem toned cardigan and vibrant tartan dress.

Distance distance, tell me that you miss this

After some hindsight, it dawned on me that this cardigan would be so much better with elbow patches. I have been wanting to try a DIY to add elbow patches to at least one article of my clothing and haven't started gathering the materials because I couldn't think of anything that would look appropriate with them. The garment would have to be the right vintage or academic style to add elbow patches, otherwise it would look  off. But yea, now I have a DIY to plan. Yipee
