This isn't pain I'm feeling, it's nostalgia

I got this TCM tee when I was checking out a clothes swap joint near my place. Unfortunately the shop is nothing to write home about, but this tee is a gem- and it never occurred to me to wear it on Halloween. So here I am, in my scariest tshirt, loving the first holiday of the season. Happy Halloween!!

Though I've walked down a crooked path, that don't mean it wasn't cursed

I planned this outfit around the idea of transformation and how things change to become something else. I am constantly drawn to this men's oxford, thrifted last year when I was inspired by Japanese students' on campus style- uber cool chicks wearing shirts like this with cardigans and skinny jeans or leggings. What most attracts me is the versatility of this piece, functioning as a button down, cover up, dress, and many other alternative roles yet to be discovered.

I won't be done with you until you're in a grave

The color palette of this outfit manifested ideas in my head about the Black Dahlia. To go with this theme, in honor of the approaching holiday, I decided to do a dramatic vintage hairstyle and toughen the look up with some boots to keep it edgy and mysterious. Urban legends and Hollywood interpretations are great fuel for Halloween inspiration! To transform this look into a costume, all that I'd need is some vintage pumps for authenticity's sake, my hair down with some big voluminous curls, and a flower behind my ear. Oh, and of course some gory face make up. Buahaha!

I'm Already Standing on the Edge, so don't Tempt Me

I was really intrigued by the mustard shade trend I kept seeing for this fall. It is such an unusual color; it reminds me of 70s golden harvest appliances. This sweater was given to me by a friend and I was attracted to its blatant fall color- which is totally my flattering seasonal palette. It had a cutesy toddleresque patch which I successfully removed (and kept for a future unknown project). Now I'm psyched to rock one of this season's major styles!

A-Team Van

This skirt was a staple when I broke my foot the beginning of this year. It is a comfy sweatsuit material, has a convenient kangaroo pouch, and is an appropriate length for being hunched over on crutches. I haven't worn it since, but seeing it in my closet always made me want to wear it. Today was the day. Being confusingly clingy in a size large, I'm not sure how it is supposed to be worn, but I dressed it up a little with this ruched mock turtleneck. I've been on the hunt, weirdly enough, to increase my turtleneck collection. This blue number is something I've kept in my closet for the sake of its conservativeness, never wearing it. Now that I feel my neck needs a hug, it's been seeing the light of day more and more.

Fall Romance

I'm back to my home-for-now and miss fall already. The four day rain streak, not so much, but I do miss actually wearing clothes. After choosing fall outfits based on necessary layering, I guess I am back to expressing the change in season with color.
